Research and Planning for Music Video - Understanding

UNDERSTANDING A MUSIC VIDEO TAKES RESEARCH AND PLANNING. WHAT IS IT, EXACTLY? ITS INSPIRATIONS ....

A music video is a visual representation of a piece of music. Although music videos are usually intended to market and promote the sale of musical albums, certain bands may choose to make one for artistic reasons. Music videos employ a variety of filmmaking techniques, including animation, live animation filming, and non-narrative approaches like abstract filmmaking. Other music videos may be simply a filmed live song performance with no predefined idea.

The following are some of the goals of a music video:

1) To sell the music and elicit a reaction from the audience so that they remember it.

2) To provide a better knowledge of the music to the listener

3) To amuse and showcase the artist's abilities.

4) Marketing with the purpose of increasing the artist's profile and gaining publicity

5) Create engaging images to sell CDs, DVDs, and downloads.

6) The overarching goal is to make money for the record label.
